After becoming a Divemaster, the Assistant Instructor qualification is the next step in a diving instructor’s career path. This program allows you to gain teaching experience, practice briefings and provide theoretical and water training.

In your online study kit you will learn the teaching system and philosophy of SSI, the management of the programs, how to develop academic sessions, teaching in confined waters and the different programs you can teach. We will complete the theory by providing you with all the resources so that you can teach the theoretical sessions of the programs.

In the practices you will improve your diving techniques at a professional level and we will teach you to be able to evaluate the exercises in confined waters, which you can begin to teach once you have your certification.

Upon completion of the program, you will receive your Assistant instructor certification and you will be ready to work as an assistant or take an instructor course and become an Open Water Instructor.

Course duration: 2 weeks

Requirements:

  • Divemaster SSi or equivalent from another agency
  • 60 logged dives
  • Medical certificate no more than one year old.
  • CPR first aid course and current oxygen provider
  • Diving insurance
  • Diving equipment
